|About the District|
The Windham County Natural Resources Conservation District was authorized and formed by the State of Vermont on January 8, 1946, under the provisions of the Soil Conservation Act No. 246 of the Acts of the 1939 Vermont General Assembly.
It is one of 14 Conservation Districts in the state of Vermont. The District is partially funded through allocations from the Natural Resource Conservation Council. Sale programs, workshops and grants secure additional funds. The District functions under the direction of five locally elected supervisors, associate supervisors, an Agriculture Resource Specialist/Basin Planner, Nutrient Management Consultant, Nutrient Management Educator,†Land Treatment Planner and a District Manager.
