IS THERE ANY TRAINING PROVIDED?
YES! Each year we meet up with all of our new and old volunteers to review the sampling protocols, get in the river to practice and enjoy a meal together to celebrate the beginning of the season.
WHAT WOULD I DO AS A VOLUNTEER?
• WQMP volunteers collect water samples from a nearby stream or river site twice each month from June – September. This process takes between 15 and 30 minutes to complete.
• Volunteers are responsible for following specific collection protocols and transporting their samples to a common drop – off site: the Dummerston Bridge or the Shell gas station in Rockingham.
• Samples must be collected between 8:00 am and 10:00 am every other Tuesday, beginning June 10th. If a volunteer is not able to make it one or two days – no problem – we will find a replacement for you.
• WRWA provides all equipment and supplies.
